History of Shul Studio

Hi my name is Art.

I’ve been a regular member of several community centers over the past 25+ years. In this time I had a chance to observe successful organizations and unsuccessful organizations. I’ve been invited to help a few community centers with their ongoing challenges.

Getting an inside view into the operations of these communities helped me to realize that these organizations have similar struggles to regular businesses.

There are issues with finances (ie. donations), with customers (ie. members), with staff (ie. volunteers and board members) and with marketing (ie. getting regular attendance to services and events).

But since community centers are mostly ‘non-profit’ organizations, their approach to operations is less “organized” than in regular businesses.

To help communities organize their operations, I wrote the 7 Pillars of Successful Shuls.

Shul Studio is a portal through which this framework is shared. We also offer strategy and marketing services for shuls in a limited capacity.

Shul Studio will structure the ‘pillars’ of successful community organizations, so that it will be easy to learn and implement gradual improvements that will result in a more satisfying user experience for all people involved with the community.
